Well, like it or not January 27 is here again.

Experimented with some new fonts I got.

JAN27: It can only mean one thing, SHIT NO I AM OLDER, AGAIN!

Back in the days, it used to be 'wow this getting older business is so fun!' And now all I feel is blergh, my life is flying by and what am I doing with it. Anyway, right now I have so many things on my mind, having just completed a Chem mock I didn't study for and tons of catch-up work to do besides a gazillion other things I should be doing. And I want to update my blog! So many happenings I want to remember.

Besides sleeping at 5am on Thursday morning and going to school, coming back for a good sleep from 4pm to 9pm and generally feeling laggy, this was a nice surprise. Bristol is the last uni to respond to me and yay I may be good enough for them. What a thought. I definitely have no regrets applying to the UK, it's been such an exciting experience.

Definitely won't be going to the UK for interview, I've emailed them and they said they will set up a phone interview. That shall be my first ever phone interview! Yay another new experience for me heheheh.

Been eating tons of oranges. Likely to get a fever + cough + sore throat + etc if this continues.

So, what goes on in a typical Chem class when we have to do a practical?

In this case, we're nitrating methyl benzoate and purifying it. Its supposed to be some kind of benzene but since benzene itself is carcinogenic, here's an alternative!

VERY IMPORTANT STEPS. LOL.

I just realized this was here today. Sigma bonds and pi bonds wthh.

The solid formed after mixing the nitrating mixture DROP BY DROP with the methyl benzoate and conc. sulfuric acid in an ICE BATH. Temperature cannot go higher than 15 degrees celcius. Annoying. Leave to sit in room temperature when all of it has been added and then pour it over crushed ice.

No, its not a drink.

And now we set up the Buchner funnel! A really cool suction funnel that uses up shitloads of water. Wash the solid with distilled water (cold!) and then we are ready to recrystallise it!

To do this, we need HOT ethanol. No flames please, unless you want the lab to go up in flames! So hot water bath + ethanol in test tube. Add in the ethanol and then put the whole thing in the hot water bath. (At 50 degrees celcius, no more and no less!) Then, we cool it in an ice bath AGAIN, and do the suction filtration AGAIN.

And its gonna sit there for the whole of Chinese New Year. Poor thing!

This is the stack of work I got for missing a few Bio and Chem lessons for my exams. Such a skiver yes I know.

Got my Extended Project results. Quite happy with my A (but not A*!) considering I did 90% of the 5000 words the night before the deadline. Stayed up the whole night and morning, and went to school, and survived. What an all-nighter! Yes folks, this is simply the height of my procrastination.

I remember reading Reader's Digest since forever. They have some pretty inspirational stories, some cool facts (that came in handy in my essays!) and of course, the jokes section. =D I recently got a new subscription with a Groupon voucher. Half price!

Change is inevitable in our lives, but friendships should be able to pull through no matter what, if they are strong enough. One of my resolutions this year is to make time for friends, and this I shall.

Some pooch pampering..

I decided to splurge on rawhide and chicken treats for Brandy that day. Other than sleeping and eating, her favorite pastime has got to be chewing on rawhide. Haha, she could go on at it for hours in complete focussed-mode. Until she feels satisfied! If it's a large bone she'll save the rest for the next few days.

So this is her posing with a cheesy grin.

Bought her this regular-sized red rawhide bone, and I am reminded once again why I never buy it. For one, the red gets all smeared on her paws and legs, making it look like she just came back from a war. The packet says long-lasting but based on the Brandy scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the most satisfying, looooooongest chew, it gets a score of 1 since it lasted her only about 10 minutes?! Her whole body shook with excitement though, a sign she's happy with it!

This actually smells really good. Cannot believe I'm saying this.

Today was pretty epic. Spent last night working on Stats until about 4am.. went to bed for 5 mins and then the bro woke me up. He was going to Cambodia for a company conference and so we took off for LCCT. Dropped him off and drove his white lion back. Slept for another two hours before I woke up rather reluctantly to go for Taekwondo class. Survived it and came back home to do more Stats! Ended up with only one paper done though, lol. Took a 2 hour nap in the evening and tadahhh here I am. O_O

My relationship with you shall end in about two days. =D

Highlight of My Day: Crit

No, Crit does not refer to any critter of any form. More like Critical Thinking! So, I just got back from school, having had my CRIT1 paper at 9pm. I must say it was a new experience for me, having an exam at 9pm! Sounds silly but its simply because we need to coordinate with the UK timing so there are no leaks. Lol.

On the left, is what the textbook looks like. Hahahah. Random Google search. And on the right, the reason why I'm doing Critical Thinking! I've completed my 100 hours of enrichment, just yet to log the extra hours I have in the Enrichment Diary (excerpt here), and completed my Extended Project (on the effects of spaying and neutering on dogs, wtfff but relevant to uni okay!) and now completed Unit 1 of Critical Thinking.

I don't think it went too well but then again that always happens with Crit. =P Document A was on iPads and Kindles, Doc B on music and CDs and Doc C on digital photography versus film photography. Glad I could relate to it in some way but I swear the questions asked were just... ... .... yeah.

I find Critical Thinking to be a useful subject in some ways, but sometimes you tend to over analyze things once you are used to it! But seriously! If you're doing something like law or history, all the more you should do this subject. (But right now its just a pain in the ass for me.. hehe.) The fallacies bit was particularly interesting, especially when you spot people guilty of those fallacies in their arguments. There are tons, I realize. Don't be one of them and look up these fallacies, hahah!

Right now, the cats in the back lane seem to be .. how do you put it.. basking in the moments of reproduction? And in the process, sounding like children screaming. Freaky, I tell you.

Anyway, bookmarked Jan 9 on my calendar to get D to buy me a pin no. for my UPU application from BSN. Gave him a photocopy of my IC in case he needed it and texted him the location of BSN branches. So tadahh here it is, he gave it to me after school today. Got a teeny bit excited on trying out Malaysia's university application system. Teeny bit because it is Malaysia's university application system.

HAH see what I did there? ^^ =P

And I'm not entirely looking forward to starting because I know there will be so many obstacles ahead! On another note, does anyone know if we can save our progress on the system? As in our data input.. since I saw something on being given a maximum of 3 times only to change anything. I think the same rule applied for the JPA PILN scholarship application I did before.

I hope this is the right one, as in for lepasan Diploma/Setaraf and not for applying for Diploma. D went to 3 BSN branches to ~~double~~ triple check and they all said different things. How typical.

And then we got home. And I checked the mail. And yay mail from Scotland. This explains my random comments on Dolly! Roslin Institute is located in this uni! Coolness. They sent me an offer letter plus everything else they already emailed me. Save trees people!

Everyone's been asking me about my plans for uni and my mind is just telling them

SHADDAP GO AWAY THIS TOPIC DAMN STRESS I EMO D.

But to maintain some form of social order and peace I reluctantly answer their barrage of questions. LOL.

To make it clear, here:

1. Why did you apply to the UK if you're not going then?

Partly as a challenge for myself to get in since VetMed is super competitive. Attending interviews were quite fun and for me its the experience that matters. It's been quite heartening to know that some of the unis I would never have dreamt of being in actually decided to give me offers. Going through all these enabled me to question myself, what I really want to do and why I want to do it. I definitely have no regrets for applying to these universities.

2. Are you confirmed going then?

Most likely no because for one, as an international student, the course is damn $$$$, amounting to a few hundred thousand ringgit for the entire 5 years and there are simply no scholarships available to cover the costs. If you do manage to find one I will treat you to a meal at any restaurant of your choice. Wtf. No joke.

3. What about JPA scholarships?

Their PILN (study abroad) scholarships as of now is still undecided, since they want to revamp the whole system. However, when I applied for it post SPM back in 2011, Veterinary Medicine was taken off the kursus keutamaan (priority courses) list. (Reason being they have sufficient numbers from the years before- when I asked the JPA officer at the FACON Education Fair 2011 at PWTC.) I applied for Pharmacy and was interviewed but did not get the scholarship. I was secretly relieved since I didn't have a strong interest in Pharmacy and didn't want to leave KLASS either! Again, I'm glad I went through the whole JPA interview experience. (in BM! Bangga sikit =P)

There is also the IVY LEAGUE & SETARA scholarships where you are given the scholarship if you hold an offer letter (unconditional I think!) from the Top 20 (based on Times Higher Edu ranking) universities of that particular year. One problem is, maybe only one or two universities that offer Vet Med are in that list. For 2011, they have limited the list even further by giving only 10 universities which they believe are top. I find this ridiculous, since places like Royal Vet College, Uni of London (RVC) wouldn't be included as they are a specialized college and only offer courses in the veterinary sector. Anyway, for 2012, I believe due to a lack of funds the Ministry are hesitant to continue. They are supposed to announce more on this in the near future. I will apply (even though they said they will monitor any students being accepted, I do not know how they are going to do this!) as soon as it becomes possible.

4. What about twinning programs?

There are no twinning programs in Malaysia. The only universities that offer this course are UPM and UMK. The full 5 years is done in Malaysia.

5. Why not go there then?

The admissions department and faculty itself have contradicting views on A-Levels as a requirement for entry. They prefer STPM or a relevant diploma or the MOE Matriculation. Based on my communications with current students, recently graduated students and vets who have long graduated from UPM, I don't think it is half as bad as what people perceive of local universities, especially since UPM has come a long way from its inception back in 1973 (1931 if you consider how it started as an agricultural college!) and is research intensive. However, the DVM degree from UPM is limited to certain countries and is not recognized worldwide (neither RCVS or AVMA, correct me if I am wrong).

5. So why didn't you take STPM or whatever it is they wanted?

Well because KLASS offered me this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do A-Levels at an international school. Something I feel gives me a lot of exposure particularly to different teaching methods, sports and travel, and being able to interact with people from different countries on a daily basis. I think I have gained a lot from that alone thus far and have no regrets preparing for university at KLASS.

6. Why don't you go study in Singapore or Hong Kong etc. instead?

They simply do not have the capacity to offer this course. Space constraints maybe? But SG and HK sends their students overseas to study for this degree. I know that the AVA in Singapore offers scholarships for Singaporeans and PRs and I have actually written in to them. (I know of one student in the RVC from SG!) Waiting for the next cycle to open before I contact them again.

7. What about the US?

In the US, Veterinary Medicine is a post-graduate degree. In other words, you need to have a degree first before you can pursue this course. And after a min. of 6 years (2 years college + 4 years VetMed), your DVM degree from the US is not recognized in Malaysia. Like wtf Malaysia (?!).

8. Oh.

Exactly.

I guess this explains my situation rather well. What would you do?

Had a pretty awesome but expensive Banana Leaf Rice lunch at Raju's in Jalan Gasing, PJ. So super duper stuffed at the end. Came home and fell asleep... wthh like babi. This weekend is supposed to be full on revision for next week's Critical Thinking paper (at 9pm on Wed! zzzz) and Chemistry 1 (Friday at 6.30pm zzzz again). Haha, I think I will probably skive school maybe Monday or Tuesday. Definitely skiving Wednesday and Friday, so that's pretty much most of the week, =P !

First day back at KLASS today. Its been awhile since I've said happily that I can't wait to go back to school!

(KLASS as in Alice Smith. Without the KL in front its just ASS and I think ASS sounds pretty wrong.)

Okay, fine, I admit, this was back in the days of SPM where we had endless jokes and endless bullying of the teachers and general flouting of school rules, or using them to our advantage. I still remember the mass ponteng kelas when we were anti-whatshisname. Pervert of a teacher.

Anyway, KLASS is a bit weird. They like to start school on Thursdays, when there's whole school assembly. Got to school today after 2 hours plus of sleep (as usual lah last minute homework zzz), dumped my stuff in the Sixth Form Centre and proceeded to the good ol' room we took for ourselves. Berborak the morning away and then trooped down to the school hall for assembly.

Moment of realization dawned on me.. it's been one year since I came to KLASS, in January 2011. Just like the new quartet of scholars sitting down at the bottom row looking pretty lost and mystified. My time at KLASS is running out, I better do what I wanna do quick! And of course, enjoy the journey while I'm at it! I also reflected on the past year at KLASS and the numerous things I've had the opportunity to do, which I wouldn't have had had I gone somewhere else. So many things, inter school badminton with other international schools, trip to China on the Cathay Pacific Green Explorer program, can't believe I'm saying this but Critical Thinking homaigosh, going to places like Bali, making new friends from a gazillion places around the world, and I think what I've gained from the most is looking at a new perspective of things, when you see how other people look at things and how they interpret them. And yes, this does apply to life in general. I'm even more grateful for the life I've lived, and the life I'm living. I think I've even come to understand why some people are the way they are. Waow I sound so philosophical but yes lah, 2011 has taught me a lot.

Its beginning to look pretty exciting where life might take you.

ANYWAY, I got this song in my head all of a sudden, maybe its a sign yo!

I want to drill in my head also, in my tertiary education, its gotta be about the course you want to do, not the university itself. Of course, there are a few factors involved but DO YOU TRULY WANNA DO IT?

I should be doing more Stats now. And possibly Chemistry. And I can't wait to attempt another HDR.

And aaahhh backside itchy I wanna buy Canon EF 50mm f1.4. USM arr jangan main-main! Just imagine what f1.4 can do!

My house can be a treasure trove of household items many decades older than me. Quite some time ago, the bro obtained a canggih new can opener, so canggih that I failed miserably at trying to use it. This canggih can opener was branded Leifheit, and the problem is, every time I wanted to open a can, I would resort to using the old can opener (which is like rusty and just really, really old but still functional!) and thus never got round to learning how to use this one!

Ee wanted tea, so there I was happily boiling water and getting a can of Carnation milk from the cupboard. And attempted to open it. With the new can opener. (I brought in the old one to school to use and dispose off after that, bro's advice!) And failed.

And then, true to my words, ( I'm sure I've said this at least once to some people, "GOOGLE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND") I Googled, How to use Lefiheit Can Opener.

So, I decided to give this little space of mine a whole new fresh look. And maybe utilize the space I have more, what you get now is larger photos, yay! So goodbye to the previous template, you have served me well! I have yet to figure out how to put in add-ons though. Spent quite a bit of time customizing everything. Reminds me of my PMR days when I was supposed to be studying but instead created this blog and updated it everyday. Ngeheheh.

And oh yes I would like to add in a FB comment social plugin kinda thing.

Brandy nearly gave me a scare when she disappeared halfway through when walking outside with D at night. She went off chasing after something, but came back when she heard me call her name. Don't do that again or you will be on the leash more often, yes, even when there is no one around!

New Year's Eve.

Spent NYE and the day before in Melaka and completely abandoned my books. Haha, I'm probably gonna pay for this but oh well, I need to enjoy life! Haha! Friday night was spent at Uncle Stephen's wedding dinner, and I brought Siggy the boyfriend along just for kicks. And to smuggle in my iPad to relieve boredom lol.

Had a good time as usual with the cousins on Friday night/Sat morning, chatting and getting hooked to multiplayer games on the iPad (whatever happened to our usual card games?!) and mamak-ing at 4am. (Tomyam soup and coconut shake, really guys?!) Woke up at noon the next day, epic fail alarm clocks as usual and spent the day just chilling. Had no care in the world of my January exams die die die. Even managed to trim Jerry's hair (that's Whiskey's son!) and gave him a bath. So free.

Saturday night, berbonding time with family at Mama Sarong's 90th birthday dinner! Although granny wasn't really happy with all the super loud fail karaoke singing going on (there was a wedding as well) and the loud loud music.

Man, it took up her energy, lol.

I don't feel like I spend enough time with her. I should call her up more often too!

Left straight for KL after that and nicely went to sleep. Mana tau I woke up sometime after that coz I felt like I was on a roller coaster. Opened my eyes to see the bro stopping the car in the emergency lane and immediately asked him what happened! He said dunno I think tayar pancit, opened the door and went down and I could smell burning tyres already!

Rupa-rupanya it was the front left tyre (my side!) that blew. I need to put a picture of it here! Epic! A guy on a motorbike came and said he saw the whole thing, and he kindly proceeded to help the bro change tyres even though he said he was planning to go to the Curve for the countdown. It was around 11pm at that point. And he did seem very nice to go out of his way to help out on NYE, and not like some fella who would do it on purpose for $$.

Haha, what an eventful NYE. Finished the whole thing in bout 15 mins and then got home. Spent the final minutes of 2011 tending to Brandy! Fed her (and hid chopped carrots in her food! >.<), changed her water bowl, cleaned up poop, etc. and calmed her down from all that fireworks. Done with all that and I went in for a shower. Came out the next year. =P

So what's in store for 2012? Plenty, I hope. I can't seem to wait to finish my A-Levels, but then I still dunno where I will end up after that. Why do I always seem to be looking forward to the next stage of my life?! I need to slow down and take things as they come and enjoy every bit of it!

Okehh, the typical resolutions. I have only a few. Not in any order.

-to take better care of Brandy!

-to spend more time with family, in MLK as well!

-to spend more time with my close friends,

and to make sure those friendships that matter don't go down the drain

-to be angry less often and do more random kindness!

And all this means less time on Facebook and the Internet! Although I can't deny these things teach me a lot and show me things from different perspectives. I can't believe back in Form 3 I said I didn't understand how people could be addicted to social networking sites. I still don't tbh hahahahha.

One major majorrrrrrr thing I need to improve on is time management. Happy 2012!

Somehow the title seems to suggest to me someone which is telling an outright lie and being boxes till they've grown whiskers. Wth that doesn't even make sense. Can't say I've been very productive today, but at my rate throughout the holidays I'm thankful I did something.

Apparently I'm headed back to good ol' MLK sometime soon for a wedding and Mama sarong's bday dinner. She's 90 this year don't pray pray. Supposed to be a grand celebration but some things happened so she doesn't want it anymore. And if she doesn't want it means it's not happening. Ahh love my family and all the dramas that pop up every now and then.

Number crunching.

Words cannot describe how much work Statistics is. For me, that is. Me, a lazy ass person who does everything last minute, including homework and revision! Have to stop doing this.. I think 11 years of doing this in school is more than enough. Anyway, time is running out .. And I don't seem to be picking up the pace, how lah?!

It's now 1230am, and here I am casually surfing the net on Applesauce (homaigawd this is the first time I've introduced my iPad to this little space on the internet of mine), with one last S1 question to go...before I complete the first paper. How pathetic. Don't even start me on chemistry.

Had a really random detour to Desa Park City just now for dinner with Ee at the Waterfront. Such a pretty place, with a huge lake and paths around it. Remind me again to bring Brandy here one day, she would absolutely love it!

No pichas, have to wait till I'm back on the beloved Mac n Cheese. I took some shots that day of Brandy at the playground gym thingy. Haven't actually looked at it yet. Ahhhhhh back to work.

It's that time of the year again.. when I reflect on the past year's happenings and ask myself whether I've done what needs to be done, done whatever makes me happy, done enough to say I've learnt new things... and suffice to say, it's been one heck of a year. My next post will probably be a glorious summary of 2011.

Anyway..it's Christmas season and quite honestly, I'm pretty sick of Christmas already! (Actually, to be very very honest, sick of it before Christmas day itself,lol.) Christmas songs have been playing all over and shopping malls are just full of Christmas decorations (and more songs!) And equally as full of people! All busy spending money to their hearts content I should think. This will be the same repeat again for Chinese New Year next year.. and I'm not entirely looking forward to it knowing only too well the school work I will still have to complete during the supposed festive season. Ah well. Life still goes on and I'll be even closer to finishing Alevels.. it calls for family time as well I guess.

This December.. has been kind of stressful considering how close my exams are .. Jan 2012! I haven't been putting in enough effort, but somehow a part of me just does not want to care anymore. It's been quite annoying having to catch up all the time.. and I guess this may be one of the first few times I'm experiencing it. I don't quite like it. Hell no. Such a sickening feeling. Which is one of the reasons I can't wait for the Jan exams to be over and done with! To be able to focus entirely on A2.. except in Psychology. Makes me wonder why I ever thought it was a good idea.

This is becoming a super wordy post but I'm blogging on the tiny Galaxy Ace and can't be bothered to find out how to add photos. Haha..shall be quite interesting reading these posts some time down the road anyway.

Next topic, and my main motive for updating my blog.. to reminisce on past memories and how I feel now. I remember almost everything.. from the blue scented flowers to his nervousness down to the red checked shirt and black undershirt. It was cute how he put it so simply, he wanted to pass me something. I was at Pyramid with WK and CK, having had a movie marathon watching Avatar and Sherlock Holmes and a nice makan at Dr Pepper's. Thought it was a nice way to end the year, just spending the day with close friends and chatting away.. life's simple pleasures. But I had an even nicer surprise in the form of Y, what with his cute nervous face and all. Haha. It was quite epic walking around holding the blue thing..part shyness part happiness.. it didn't help that it was countdown night, tons of people left and right. We had to squeeze thru the crowd wherever we wanted to go, and it was certainly a nice feeling knowing that there's a special someone caring for you so much, and caring for your safety! It was a long drive back at like...2am?! But we finally made it back and I fell asleep with a happy heart to end the year and start the new year. Thinking about it now, I cannot believe it's been two years already. Cliched as it may sound, time flies and with it people change. One year after that special Christmas season I was in Thailand, and on FB chatting with Y, of all people, and talking to him from a different perspective on a very ironic subject. Lets not go into there! We were both different, the year had changed us and it was pretty ridiculous how things happened so fast, I didn't even know what happened! Anyway, I'm kind of glad things went the way they were. One year after Thailand and I'm here on my bed reminiscing the moments in life. Things with Y have changed so much, they don't even exist anymore. Maybe we were better off in those days of msn messages and my ignorance of how he felt towards me. But things happen for a reason and mostly I'm glad they turned out this way!

And my friends? They're a whole different story but I'm happy to report that most of them are still the people I know inside out. Most. I think I need to find more time for them, they are after all quite a big part of my life and I dont want to regret losing them!

And now. Off to sleep. All I want for Christmas is Whiskey to be back home. But if that is selfish of me...I want her to be happy and contented.. with good food and lots of love and care and people to spend time with her. Something I couldn't give much of. I'm sorry, my little darling. You're sorely missed and a reminder of what Brandy means to me. Merry Christmas love.

Brandy and I miss you tons! Whenever I stand outside the house door and call out to you, Brandy wags her tail and looks around the compound, expecting to see her little furry ball with a waggy twisty tail approach. I'm sure she misses roaching around on the ground with you and wrestling with you eating up her ears. However much she may find you licking her face annoying, I bet she misses that so much now. Nobody is around to lick her face anymore, nobody is around to crawl under the chairs with her, nobody is around to accompany her on her daily walks. It's been 3 days now since you've gone missing, and I've posted your picture around everywhere on the Internet, in blogs, dog rescue sites, Facebook pages, I've got my friends to share out your picture on their profiles, and D has even put up your poster at the guard house and other areas. We're waiting for you to come home, Whiskey. Wherever you are now, I hope from the bottom of my heart that you've got enough food, shelter and love to keep you happy. I'm sorry I couldn't keep up with your need for adventures outside our house. You've given me so much in the past 8 years that we've been together, I couldn't have asked for more. Do you remember the days when we used to go for training sessions together? Agility trials? The crowd even recognized you outside the ring simply because you looked so cute trying to conquer the mountainous A-frame, your little body and legs trying with all their might to bring you to the top. It's university application worry season. UK vs UPM vs Aussie vs I dunno. It totally sucks when you actually get to the point where you want to be, and then discover that there are just some obstacles you can't control. It leaves you ... hopeless?

If this fails, I do have a Plan B. But I'm pretty sure my Plan B does not include choosing another course. I don't think I can handle doing something I'm not truly passionate about. And yes, doing medicine is not what I want to do. I don't see why some people think my course of choice is any lesser than medicine. Selfishness? Pure ignorance? Sigh. I guess it is thanks to these people I can develop my patience and question myself again, do I want this that bad? What are the sacrifices? They may be small.. but will I regret it? Aiii.

Its kind of funny how I decided to choose Notts for MNutr in my UCAS application for 5th choice. It was such a random, last minute choice of mine..rather than not having a 5th choice at all... so what the heck, went for it. And then it became hilarious when my application was almost immediately unsuccessful. Hilarious at first.. and then worrying second. But then the world was happy and complete again when RVC gave me a conditional offer! Yes, so much fun and drama in applying for fun.

Just got back from Hong Kong and China on an 8 day trip: the Cathay Pacific Green Explorer Programme. Had such a great time being in the jungles of China with Siggy tagging along, and making new friends with people from 9 other countries! Now, post-trip... requires another 500 word essay! Need to get my butt working again.

AS results came out when I was having a good time in rural China. LOL. To be exact, I was at Huilin Ecological Resort, which was quite high up in the mountains. (which one, I dunno!) Results were actually online at 1pm, but I only managed to get internet access when I got back to Yingjing around 4pm. Scared my roommate Jennifer from Canada quite a bit when the 'scream of frustration' came along. Hahah. Not too happy with my Chemistry 2 and Biology 3.. But still pretty shocked at my 120/120 achievement. Unexpected! Enough with the results.. it hasn't been the highlight of my summer, LOL.

Today's one of those rare days I'm watching TV, and Animal Planet's on! While watching (and surfing the net, that's multitasking for you!), I'm thinking about my decision to study VM. Its exciting, yes...but the journey there alone is getting crazy..Don't know if I can stand the emotional part of it all! But then again, "anything is possible to a willing heart"!

Well. I'm done with my AS exams. Actually, My last paper was more than a week ago. Chemistry Unit 2 which was just plain horrible. Sigh. On the bright side, I still have Unit 1 to take in January next year.

Yup, he's growing so fast and time is flying by too. As always. Here's some random updates..

~for one, AS exams are next week! =O (however, this means it will be over within two weeks...and boy, do I have plans for post exams!

~BTFC Closed was not too bad, I didn't get whacked upside down but instead managed a gold for sparring. Poomsae...gahhh, it's just not me.

~Brandy is a momma again...at ten! Golden Shepherds/German Retrievers whichever u prefer. They're all black little creatures having the time of their lives just growing, literally.

~I've taken a one month break from working at the clinic. It's actually nice to have nothing planned on Saturdays! Yet...I wanna go back. LOL. have not crossed off spaying surgeries off my list!

~it's Term 3 at ASS already! Been barely 5 months into my course...and here are the wonderful finals! Nothing to complain though, let's get this done with. YEAH.

~sigh, no badminton this term though. To think I actually miss those thrice a week trainings at ASS.

~Got letter from MEXT to go for exam on May 29. Hohoho Merry Xmas.

~Jabatan Postpone Again. Those three letters, ahem. I applied for Pharmacy for the fun of it. Don't even ask. Zzz.

And... Sherly's mom has left us. I know that this good friend of mine can overcome this...simply because she can. We'll be there for you, don't worry and just smile..

I miss those times. But what is life without change. I'm just happy I got to experience all these with the people I care for...and get to keep these memories. For that, I am thankful.

The only reason why there is an emphasis on Easter this year..is because I have a two week break. Much needed, yet it supposedly is a revision fest for the exams in mid-May. I honestly can't wait for the exams to be done with. I want to start afresh and not have to catch up all the time. Sighh. That would mean the start of Year 13 though.

Anyway, this little space of mine on the net NEEDS an update. So many things have been happening, some of which I want to document to remember and laugh back on ten years from now. A bit far-fetched? Ahh well.

SPM results have come and gone, scholarship woes, JPA drama over Vet Med, First Aid course, Cheng Beng prayers in Melaka, Applesauce the iPad, my dying phone..Wow. The things going on in my life, LOL.

Yup, I barely have time to do this now. I don't seem to have time for anything but work, work and more workkkkk. The homework is crazy, crazy enough for me to no be able to catch up on past work and to revise for the exams. Which are like OH SO DARN close now. The weeks will probably fly by and we'll be done with the exams in NO TIME. And that's what's got me worried, the thought of it. And having to survive in school, the daily going to schools *ahem, terbatuk gua* and back, the lack of sleep..oh fun fun fun.

But OH WELL. I guess this is what my life's giving me now, and its not too bad, I'm grateful for that. Thankful for this chance..yet everything seems so..far-fetched. Pre-SPM I was thinking of this, and now, I'm thinking of what's next! I'm not so sure I want this all to go past so quickly...I might just regret it. Let's just plaster on a smile, and do it. Without the smile even..but just do it.
I like this quote I heard the other day, "Life is what happens when you're busy planning."

And yes, if you have managed to read this far, its gonna be a blogpost full of words. Wordy wordsssss because I miss my Siggy so much and can't bear the fact that there are so many opportunities available for photos and yet I'm not there. I just want time to hang out with Siggy, and of course the beloved canines. There are 5 at home right now actually, the 2 PR, the husky and small fry for show and the hyperactive GSD for training. Yep, they make life so much more interesting.

Let's have more words eh. SPM results are going to be announced in just about one more day, two more days..doesn't really matter when. All the hype going on... I better get 10As. But then when I was thinking about it..haha, why ten? To fulfil everybody else's expectations? I just need As for my Bio, Chem, Phy, Maths and English. And yes...so I don't have to repay the dear sister for my Siggy lens. But that's about it. 50 years down the road, you probably won't even remember what your results were anyway. I'm not saying this period isn't exciting though. HOW EXCITING. TO FIND OUT HOW I DID FOR MY ACCOUNTS PAPER. Ended my SPM and had the last day in school crapping out an Accounts paper. Memories..

And geuss what, Sports Day at ASS is cancelled once more, sort of happy coz I don't have to run with a loose ankle (LOL, a result of badminton training+tournament+taekwondo training+badminton training all in a row) but sort of disappointed cuz that means classes go on as usual. Haha, oh well, at least we're attempting growing cauliflowers from stem cells. =DDDD

In the meantime, put on the smile, the thinking cap, the black belt and kick asses people. I love coffee.

Singapore in a Day!

I completely forgot to update my blog on that memorable Singapore trip I went on with my Bio schoolmates. Ah well, Singapore in a day proved to be not tooo bad. The MRT during peak hours...fuhhhh. Journey from Ang Mo Kio/Yishun/somewhere there all the way to Changi STANDING in the MRT...funnnn.

We flew AirAsia to Singapore at 7am and back again at 8pm. For once, it felt so good to be back home! (Mainly cuz we stank like the zoo and were desperately in need of shower+sleep)

I had to focus my photos on a certain animal for my Bio report, so anything else was just..rushed! We practically rushed around the whole day anyway, so yea..

Was supposed to have Sports Day in school today, but it got cancelled. I think in Sedaya, Sports Day is such a big thing that even if the current sawah padi in school floods, we'd still be ~~swimming~~ running around and marching our butts off. Well, silver lining silver lining silver lining people...at least we still had energy left for badminton against GIS today. Otherwise we would have been...deader than dead?!

I realised there's nothing in my blog about my ventures into the vet's clinic every week.

Which can be ohsofun btw.

ANYWAY, here's an excerpt from my AQA Enrichment Diary. Yup, its categorised under Work Experience.

Second time at the vet's clinic today, arrived there at 10am.

As usual, most of the patients were dogs. One cat came in today, however, after suffering from a nasty car accident. She had a broken mandible and was immediately administered Mannitol via IV to ease the brain trauma. Some X-rays were then done to determine the other injuries, including at the chest cavity. The cat was then admitted and will be operated on when she is in a stable condition.

Several puppies were brought in to be vaccinated, dewormed and the usual. Two West Highland White Terriers that were suffering from skin infections and diarrhoea had some interesting work done on them. Vet took a sample from the dogs and placed it under the microscope, where he pointed out to me what's what, e.g. the swimming Giardia! He then scanned the dogs under a UV light and found ringworm infections, which happened to turn a fluorescent green!

Eye problems seemed to be popular with patients today. One dog was bitten on the eye, another had only one eye, another was completely blind. There were also some scares today, like the Pomeranian who apparently had growths on the neck...it turned out to be matted hair! Then there was the Shih Tzu mother who apparently could not walk...but started prancing about happily in the clinic.

I also witnessed a few tests being carried out, including the heartworm test, test for lung/heart problems, test for eye ulcers and a test for vision impairments. Next week should prove interesting, I would want to know how the patients which were admitted today are doing!

Almost One Month..

Last week was the first full week of school, Mon to Fri. HECTIC CRAP. Was definitely not a good week, going down with stomach aches on Monday and Tuesday, sore throat on Thursday and going into a fever on Friday. Must be all that work and not enough sleep.

I NEED MY BEAUTY SLEEP. Give it back! *sobs*

Anyway, finally cleared up all my books a while ago...left with 3 textbooks..sentimental value. LOL. Nah, just in case.

This dude has been with me for a few months now, and apparently he's getting bigger without me noticing it. Yeah, he used to be smaller than my Golden! He just jumps over her so easily now, T_T. Still annoying as ever and loves to topple over food bowls, water buckets and everything else toppleover-able. And thru psychology, I have done classical conditioning on this lil guy here and convinced him to go hide in his kennel when I ask WHO WAS IT WHO BIT SLIPPERS?! Hehe, mean me as usual.

Oh yes...and there's this Biology Field Trip which according to the letter my school issued...IS NOT OPTIONAL. (which means its included in the scholarship, =D)

We're headed to Singaaapuraaaa! Sometime in February. To visit...some exhibition bio-related. Was it viruses and CSi and something like that? Ehh. The trip being a one day trip, means we have to get our butts to the airport by 615am. =X

This was before their National Day celebrations..i think.

The focus is on relationships whether it be for better or worse.

In May you may have to curb a tendency toward self-indulgence. It
is okay to be a bit extreme occasionally but if you are a bit too
reckless than you could sabotage all you were working towards in
the spring. You might also have to deal with a sabotaging personal
habit at this time such as drinking or overeating.

June could bring a soul mate, as well as an opportunity to further
your education. By July you could find yourself planning to set
off in an entirely new direction in life. You will be excited
about starting a brand new enterprise completely from scratch.

If you are experiencing a personal year of 4 going to finally have
the opportunity to address a health challenge. The year favors
healers of the brilliant medical sort so if you need a good doctor
you will find one.

In January you may be looking at an agenda that entails a great
deal of work-related travel. You may be feeling a bit lonely but
don't worry because in February you will be travelling a great deal
for family reason. However March is likely to find you isolated
again mostly because you might be digging into a mountain of
necessary work. Still this reshaping of your life is going to bring
you a great feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment that will
make the loneliness and long hours all worthwhile.

In April you will receive a great deal of recognition and
admiration for your self-sacrificing and hard-working ways. This is
also one of your most lucrative months. It is a good time buy
real-estate, rent an apartment or remodel your home. Trading and
selling is favored but gambling is not; you can be rich but you
will have to earn every penny you make.

The summer may find you on the road again however this time you

April could find you working very hard to make the kind of money

I guess you could say its a week of 2011 almost gone now..

And ASS is super tiring. I have yet to fully recognise WHERE all my classes are, be it the main building or the 6th Form Centre or wherever else. The 6th Form place is like my home base where I dump all my books...not necessarily a good thing to have the centre when you have to go up and down stairs and get to the next class! Ehh. I'm already happy enough as it is if I'm able to get to the right class at the right time with the right teacher in it. Yes, this 2 teacher for one subject thing is kind of complicated, especially where they both teach different topics.

Trying to manage with the workload though, SPM seems much easier at this point. Thankfully I've only skipped one term and not more! Wondering if I can still make the cut for Badminton and if I can survive their thrice a week training!

This was done quite a while back..for D actually, but then I sabo-ed it and ta-dahhh, Xmas ecard.

30 plus photographs can't possibly sum up the 2010 I had, but I'll do my best. Here goes..

Had a good CNY with all my relatives plus gooood foooood and good $$$. Hehe.

Expanded my collection of cubes to include the void cube, 4by4, 5by5, etc.

Had some fun times at Leadership Camp...and craved for more!

In March, worked our butts off planning everything for Blue House, from athlete selections to tent decorations to marching drills... And then drained our butts physically running and lempar cakera-ing and shot putting and tarik-tali-ing. It all paid off in the end, victory for Blue House. =) Thanks to Ms Anushiyaand all the teachers, Christine, Christina, Akmal, Jak Hao, Xin Wei, Yip, and everyone else Blue.

Somehow participated in another MUN! KLMUN 2010 at Garden Intnl School.

Dissected this poor fellow in Biology class. This poor fellow once lived in BK5, Puchong. Big thank you to its captor. Was really unexpected. =)

And of course, had my fair share of injuries and even discovered my osteophytes in my left foot!

In June, got my darling DSLR in Msia and my Siggy 18-125mm lens from the US. Thanks to my sis, bro and Jon! (And my poor bank account!)

End of June, actually got my butt to Hong Kong with the family plus grandma in tow. Met Sis and BiL there.

And of course, after getting Siggy, forced my doggies to camwhore! Willing models if you had the food.

Experienced being a typical tourist in KL! Missed out on some due to school though. Urgh.

July: Cousin got married. FINALLY! =D Smiles all over, especially from Grandma Sarong. Hehehe.. Met many unknown relatives, LOL.

Headed to Singapore shortly after. Met relatives, became tourist, soaked in pool in the middle of the night, been there done that! Heheh!

Actually passed my driving and got my license. Idiots stuck my picture in there senget-ed.

Went for the usual dog shows. Spectator cum photog.

Took many, many, many photographs for the school yearbook. This was the Prefect Board committee. Had awesome and not so awesome times, organising Teachers' Day, going about daily duties and coping with drama in the school! Big hug to you guys though for surviving this year!

And of course, celebrated birthdays! Dad's in HK, Ee's in KL, Bro's at HOME. LOL.

Got to witness Mr Taekwondo's grand opening with plenty of little tikes. Happy moment. Congrats, Mr Cheong. =P
AND, decided sorta last minute to go for my 2nd dan grading at BTFC. Yea, like finally got my lazy butt to do it after all these years!

Puppies, puppies and more puppies. This fellow was nicknamed MooMoo. Whiskey's pup. Had so many other doggies who checked in and out of Lye Hotel that I don't remember.

PTPP! Its nickname isn't exactly pleasant sounding, hehe. Awesome times with Mai, Putri, Divo, Eleena, and THAT KenJee.

Shortly before SPM Trials, went through the whole experience of getting a scholarship at Alice Smith School. Application, entrance tests, interviews. Fuih. Finally emerged successful and that's where I'm heading next year!

Oh and yes, Mighty Minds. Spur of the moment thing to enter and we did so completely unprepared. Studied for exams instead I think. Hehe. Was a fun experience though, with Rohan and Chun Keat.

Imagine the hours of PE we had over the year. It was basketball most of the time. Wonder how we never got bored. Even with the injuries! (Pokes in the eye, scratches on the hands, bent fingers, bleeding gums...yea, it was more than basketball!) I remember we used to run off once the bell rang. On the dot. Hahah. I still suspect Jade has been practising her shoots at home. =P

Can you believe it? We were madly playing cards after our trials and before SPM.

And we even insisted on playing our last round of badminton at the school hall before SPM came along. This place used to be where Sherly, Jade, CK, Kian Hong, Vincent, KK, and the rest of the Badminton Club would be Monday afternoons. Yes, drained myself of all energy playing badminton after school. MSSD this year with Faya, funny experience as it was right after Sports Day.

This was in early November I think. Organised by Ms Anushiya..something to remember. Gave my speech in BM. (Like, for the first time! Its always in English!) Sort of cut Christine's bday cake after the event. Had SPM briefing too, and took plenty of photos. Officially our last day in school before we were on "study leave". My leave wasn't very productive, heheh.

2010 also had me stuff lotsa good food down my throat. Yummmmmmy. From laksa to satay in Melaka..cendol..did I mention satay perut?...food in HK, food in the place in the photo below, food in Singapore..Makes me wonder..HAVE I GROWN FATTER? Hah, the correct word is prosperous!

And just recently, BANGKOK with the bro, aunt and granny! Was completely unplanned. Spent my Christmas waiting for a delayed flight in the lounge in KLIA. How fun! Zzz.

Bangkok made up for it though. Street food was good as was the tuk-tuk rides and cheap taxis.

2010 had so much to offer and I hope I made the most out of it. The memories and photographs will still be there (unless my hard disk crashes!) and I think I can safely say let's move on to 2011. =)

Form 5 Farewell

Last Friday was Form 5 farewell, together with an SPM briefing and a talk by IAEC on college choices.
Thanks a wholee bunch to Ms Anushiya for organising the whole thing. Managed to pull off my speech in BM. I think it was my first speech in BM to the whole school. All my previous ones were in English. Hmm. It was an interesting experience though, and apparently evoked some emotional thoughts in certain teachers! Hahaa. Some pics are on FB, the rest are in my Siggy waiting to be uploaded. Some fine day.

Also received stuff from the school, including a plaque sorta thingy 'in appreciation of my service as HP'. popular vouchers, handmade but 'photocopied' cards(I remember making those cards the past few years, hahah!), a reusable bag (of course with a huge LOGO), pencil case with SEKOLAH SRI SEDAYA wording splattered and a few certs. Oh yeah and a book nicely wrapped up. Thanks for the effort. There were a few interesting performances too. Chean Leong's cannot be categorised as interesting though. Live porn.

The talk by IAEC ..... was okayy, considering there was a failed projector! LOL and Ben was not much help either. Might be going to a UK edu fair tomorrow. Anyone?? FCWK I'm talking bout you!

SPM briefing, not much. They just gave out the timetable and elaborated on the kinda obvious rules. Didn't know the whole school's results could be barred if there was any serious case of cheating. I would seriously KILL that person if that were to happen. And I'm sure I'd have lots of support and help. Hahh.. Last words from teachers were kind of scary (Ms T!), funny, consoling...and of course...silencing(TSW). Ahemmm.

We also had a mini celebration of Christine's birthday with the choco cake Sherly's aunt baked. Not baaad. Sherly Rupang please inherit some skills! Had some last minute photo taking, autograph signing and tearful hugging with those teachers. Yeah. Not students. Gonna see them again in barely a month! Woohoo, SPM.

Had prayers complete with an array of food to commemorate mom's anniversary. Lighting wasn't dark, I made the photograph dark for the fun of it.

Alice in Wonderland!

Let me start this post with a biiig WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I finally got a call from Alice Smith School informing me of my ticket to Wonderland aka I got the scholarship. Lol. I actually answered my handphone with sticky hands from eating orangesssss. And wondering which idiot of a bank called to look for a guy to pay up his credit card bills. (A lot of wrong number experiences, trust me.)

These pics were taken from when I went for their
entrance test. In between my second trials. Zzz. All computerized and testing you on English and Maths. I think they called it a computer adaptive baseline test or something like that. That test took like two hours! The poor bro who had to wait, hahahah. (And hence took these pictures!)

Next up was an interview, 2 weeks later...which had 3 people taking turns asking me questions! It was a fun experience though. Sunway College's interview was definitely a good warm-up!

Anywayyyy, am starting in January. Can I officially screw SPM for now? =P

Odd Time

Cleared up all the clutter on my blog and finally got my lazy butt to set up Dog Shots. In three days, it will be exactly one month till SPM is here. And here I am back to blogging, just like in my PMR days. Have got tons of pictures, some nicely dumped in the newly acquired 1Tb hard disk, some still in Siggy and of course, more to be dumped at Dog Shots.

I still have my Accounts paper for my second trial to take late on in the morning. But what's the point of the first trial? Nyehehehhe. Results are oohhkaayy for plenty of last-min studying! What to do, I'm just so sick of exams and trying to get all As. Zzz.

Waiting for final news from Alice Smith School and Sunway UC. Went for both interviews already, Alice Smith was 3 on one! Hahah. I hope I did well for both, the Sunway one was definitely a good warm-up! Typical questions to expect are..tell me about yourself, where do you see yourself in ten years, why do you deserve the scholarship, wha if you don't get it...and plenty of other questions suitable for productive rambling. Heh.

Back from the school trip to Melaka, ended up going to 2 museums, Islamic dunno what and the one on independence near Stadhuys and Dataran Pahlawan (Mahkota if you prefer). Well, I guess the trip taught us a lot about TEAMWORK and the BARTER system. Hah. Thanks guys for your VALUABLE answers to fill in the booklet. =P

Had a nice snooze in the bus on the way there, the aircond was awesome.

Turns out there was the TORTURA exhibition going on at the same time. Didn't spend much time at both museums though.

Went off for lunch at 1pm at Dataran Pahlawan. Crossed over to Mahkota instead together with Wen Khye and hunted for my beloved pork satay at Plaza Mahkota @ Ming's Sate Hut. Bought 100 sticks at 60 sen each..speaking of which...I want more PERUT! Only ordered 15 sticks of intestine, too bad.

Crossed over back to Dataran again, only to find ourselves 20 minutes early. Hung around the food court and whacked some satay in the process.

Managed to get a slice of Nadeje crepe cake too, imported it all the way back to school and ate it there and then. Lol. Original is still the best! Wen Khye's Berry Berry dunno what = super the sweet.

Had another nice snooze on the way back, it rained this time, even colder! The running for satay partner. Fellow stoners arrived at school.

Went to KLCC today..someone wanted to go for this..

And so I happily tagged along to the Convention Centre. Open to 18yrs and above only, (and RM10 per person at that!) need to show IC so there goes my chance.

Went back to KLCC and headed for Kinokuniya. Found heaven there.

Spent about 2 hours there, decided to get myself a greenteafrap, terserempak the Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition, hopped in. Still there till 25th April, free admission. A few pics caught my attention, like the ones below.

Running around school trying to get Blue House things done at 630 in the morning.. going to be nice memories! The drama started when we discovered the key for the room where our decorations were was with our teacher. And it so happened our speeeding teacher got stopped and summoned by the police on the way to school =P

Thanks to Xin Wei for so kindly agreeing to be painted on, must have been super ticklish while we were painting your face AND neck! Jak Hao the VP and our marching commander, who actually managed to get us the marching trophy! K1 and K2, aka ChrisA and ChrisE, too bad we didn't win the Deco trophy, but I must say those banners were good shade while in the sun! =P

You know what, I love you Blue House people! =DDD

Off to Melaka in a while, gonna get more burned tomorrow! Prefects' Installation and Badminton MSSD on Monday. Yikes.
